What to Expect

puppy1.pngDr. Cheryl Waterhouse founded the hospital with the goal to provide the most advanced veterinary medical care and most compassionate personal attention for patients in an exceptionally clean and welcoming atmosphere for clients.  Her goal is for the hospital to excel in all areas.

We have exceptional doctors and staff that strive to provide the highest standards of medical care. When you call our office you will be greeted by a staff member that is happy to assist you. We offer appointments 6 days a week. You are welcome to schedule with any of our doctors or request an appointment with a specific doctor. All of our doctors will have access to your pet's medical records in our computerized medical record system. In the fall of 2007, our practice went "paperless". This means that all current records of your pet are available to any staff member from any hospital computer for review.

Once you and your pet are in our office for your appointment, you will be greeted by one of our friendly and knowledgable Client Service Representatives. Your pet will be weighed and a complete set of vital signs will be obtained. At that time one of our team members will discuss any recommended care. A doctor will perform a complete physical examination, discussing their findings with you. You always have the opportunity to have questions that you may have answered by a team member.  If your pet needs any diagnostic testing, such as blood profiles or radiographs (x-rays), one of our trained Veterinary Assistants or Registered Veterinary Technicians will assist. We are very proud of our medical team. They are some of the most talented and highly skilled in the area. They strive to make the care of your pet their top priority, provided with compassion and concern like they were their own. At the end of your visit, we will send home any medications that were recommended by the doctor. We have a full pharmacy and are able to dispense most medications at the time of your visit. If your pet received wellness services, a reminder will be sent so you know when we need to see your special family member again.

If your appointment is for a surgery or a dental prophylaxis, you will be greeted by one of our Client Service Representatives. You will be asked at that time to authorize any procedures for which your pet is scheduled. You will have the opportunity to have your questions answered before you leave your pet with us for the day. You will be given our "hospital hotline" phone number, allowing you direct access to those caring for your pet while in our hospital. Once your pet is admitted, they will be weighed and a complete set of vitals will be obtained. Any necessary labwork will be performed in our state of the art in- house laboratory. A doctor will perform a complete physical examination. Any concerns will be discussed with you before the procedure, so it is important that you are available by phone. We have a highly trained team that will provide exceptional care to your pet while in our facility. After the procedure, you will receive a phone call updating you on the status of your pet. Upon discharge, a team member will discuss with you the care that your pet will require at home. A written summary of these instructions is provided as well, should you have additional questions.

We look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your pet. We hope to show you our distinctive difference and help your pets live longer, healthier and happier lives.
